World Pride Music Festival
July 31 – Aug 1, 2026
FunHouse World Pride 2026
July 31 – Aug 8, 2026
Get ready to mark your calendars: from 25 July to 8 August 2026, the vibrant city of Amsterdam will proudly host the 2026 edition of WorldPride — and simultaneously EuroPride — under the theme “UNITY” – a call to connection, solidarity, and shared strength across cultures, identities, and movements.
This will be one of the biggest global celebrations of LGBTQIA+ visibility, rights, and community gathering — set against the backdrop of one of Europe’s most iconic and welcoming cities.
Amsterdam is no stranger to Pride — its rich history of tolerance, inclusion, and cultural diversity makes it a fitting host. A few key reasons:
The city boasts over 180 nationalities, reflecting its global, multicultural spirit.
In 2001, the Netherlands became the first country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage. Amsterdam wants to mark 25 years of marriage equality in 2026.
Hosting WorldPride (and EuroPride) helps amplify its commitment to LGBTQIA+ rights at home and abroad.
This festival isn’t just one parade or one weekend — it’s a multi-day, multi-event experience. Here are major events and what you should know.
25 July 2026: Pride March (Amstelveld → Vondelpark) kicks off.
25 July: Pride Park at Vondelpark — a place to gather, kick off the celebrations.
31 July – 1 August: Street Parties across the city at 12+ locations.
1 August: Legendary Canal Parade, winding through Amsterdam’s historic canals.
4–8 August: WorldPride Village at Museumplein — cultural hub, meetup zone.
5–7 August: WorldPride Conference at Beurs van Berlage — deep dives into activism, rights, policy.
8 August: WorldPride March + Closing Concert — grand finale.
Arts & culture: From 25 July through 8 August, expect exhibitions, open-air film festivals, pop-ups and more.
Community zones: Youth Pride, Senior Pride, Trans Pride, Women & Pride, Bi+ Pride, Student Pride and many others all have dedicated spaces.
Celebration + advocacy: This isn’t just a party — it’s a statement. Rights, visibility, intersectionality are central.
Book early: With an event of this scale, hotels, flights and even local transport will fill up fast.
Know your pulse: Want the parade? The street parties? The conference? Choose your core experience but build downtime too — two weeks of events can be intense.
Accommodation: Consider staying centrally (e.g., near Museumplein, Jordaan, or near canal routes) so you’re close to major events.
Transportation: Amsterdam’s public transport is excellent — trams, metros, bikes.
Safety & Respect: While Amsterdam is welcoming, standard travel safety practices apply — keep belongings safe, be alert for pickpockets and watch the weather (summer in Europe can still surprise).
Local culture: Incorporate visits to queer-friendly neighbourhoods, cafés, the iconic Homomonument (a meaningful local landmark) and more to deepen your experience.
