How did you start your DJ career?

A long time dear friend DJ Cindel suggested I look into becoming a DJ. He offered to teach me, but our timings wouldn’t match up – So I took the liberty to teach myself! I owe it to him for sparking the flame that began my musical journey!

How would you describe your music style?

My music style consists of high energy beats, mixed with vocals – Mainstream and niche. I believe a DJ’s job is to provide the right atmosphere for the event, while at the same time being able to express themselves creatively – Introducing something new to the audience.

What is your favorite part about being a DJ?

My favorite part about being a DJ is experiencing the pure energy from a hyped up crowd and knowing that it’s my creativity and perspective that has given them that feeling. We are in rough times as a society…and I’m extremely happy to provide an experience where people can let loose and forget their problems.

What do you enjoy most about the circuit party scene?

At a circuit party, you can forget about the outside world as you walk into a space that is 100% safe and welcoming. The circuit scene was originally created out of necessity decades ago, as fundraisers for the AIDS crisis. I believe to this day, though we have succeeded in our cause, there is a sense of community that has withstood generations.

What is your advice to anyone who wants to become a DJ?

If you want to become a DJ, the road can be a long one. You have to work many hours in front of a computer screen without the guarantee your work will ever be recognized. Just keep pushing forward in your passion and try your best to differentiate yourself from what is out there. You need to create and nurture your sound over time. Learning to mix is one thing, but learning to produce is what will really make you stand out!

What is one thing you'd like people to know about you?

One thing I’d like people to know about me is that I genuinely care about making a positive difference in our community, whether it’s through my music, actions or words. I believe in the power that compassion and empathy has. We have all struggled in one way or another – And that’s what connects us.
